q&a and a pep talk

Over a month ago (yikes - time flies), Tolly over at Tollywog blog awarded me with the Leibster blog award. I appreciate the shout-out and apologize that it has taken so long for me to pass this award on. You guys have to check out Tolly's blog and her house renovation. I have complete house envy:).

I think the gist of the award is to answer questions about myself and pass them on to a few blogs that I love to read. I found the questions quite interesting. So, here's a little something about me:

1. If you had to move next month, where would you go?
Hmmm...If I had to move in a month I think I'd move in with my parents:) Just kidding mom and dad. I guess if we couldn't live where we do, we'd want to live in/near Greenville or Charleston, SC.

2. Do you exercise? Love it or hate it?
Does chasing around a toddler count? I don't make the time for exercise like I should. The gym intimidates me a little. I like to run/walk outside though. When it warms up I try to run/walk at least 2-3 nights a week

3. Ice cream or cake?
I have a sweet tooth, but I'd have to say ice cream. I never turn down ice cream. Chocolate banana milkshakes from Dairy Queen are my favorite with Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey as a close second.

4. Which season is your favorite and why?
Seasons in the southeast are great because we get to experience all of them and I love that. I'd have to say though that my favorite is spring. I love the excitement of warmer weather coming, flowers blooming and just the feeling you get when you open a window in your house for some fresh air on that first warm day.

5. Which album/artist are you listening to today?
Ben Rector was at the top of my Spotify playlist.

6. What CAN you live without right now?
I know I'm the minority and this is surprising, but I CAN live without DVR and we have never had it. Many of you are probably wondering how we make it. If we see our favorite show, great. If not, no big deal. What I couldn't live without as it relates to TV is 'on demand'. The Wiggles have to be close to our disposal at the moment.

7.  What's the most adventurous thing you've ever done?
I’m perplexed at how to answer this question. I guess when I think of the word adventurous, outdoorsy comes to mind first and then risk-taker pops in my head next. I don’t consider myself to be the most adventurous person. I sort of don’t like this about myself, but it’s who I am. I’m a worrier who doesn’t take many uncalculated risks. I would say the craziest outdoorsy thing I’ve ever done was my first date with Paul. He took me to a cabin on a lake in our small town. His friends were down at this cabin fishing. It was their hang-out spot. I let him take me out for a canoe ride in the middle of the lake at night in February. Of course we had no lifejackets, but I just learned this week that Paul knows how to make a flotation device with his pants. He told me that he learned how to do that in boy scouts. Wow, that could have been an interesting and even more adventurous first date:). Looking back, this seems really unsafe and cold.  If you define adventurous as risk-taker then I would say quitting my full-time job of 5 ½ years to join a new company working part-time to be with Georgia more is the riskiest thing I’ve done yet.  There were lots of risks taken in that switch. All of which have worked out. God’s timing is perfect and there is no reward without some risk. I’m learning that.

8. Who would play you in a movie about your life?
I don't look like Cameron Diaz by any means, but she's a good actress and my personality is a mixture of her role in The Holiday and My Best Friend's Wedding. Or maybe those are just my favorite movies. Either way, I think she'd do a good job portraying me.

9. What are you currently reading?
A Winter Dream and Godswink are currently on the nightstand.

10. East Coast or West Coast?
Not sure what this is referring to, but I'll go with East Coast:)

That's a little bit about me. Now I'll pass the baton on to these lovely blogs. Ladies, just answer the questions above and pass them on!

Now for your Pep Talk. Paul shared this cute YouTube video with me last week and I thought I'd share it with you. You may have already seen it. If not, Enjoy and have a fabulous St. Patty's weekend!
