sneak peek

Here's just a little sneak peek of the nursery. We are moving right along getting our little one's room ready.

In the midst of getting the nursery ready, Paul and I have been listening to our favorite lullaby CD so far (check out one of the songs here) and talking about shows we watched as kids. Paul watched a show called Reading Rainbow. He thinks I'm weird because I never watched this show growing up. I'm just curious, did you ever watch this show? If not, what was your favorite show/cartoon?

items for sale...

We had a rainy Saturday here, but it was nice because it forced me to stay indoors and do some spring cleaning. We are cleaning out to make room for our little addition. I have been meaning to sell the three items below for a while now.

$10 for both tan pillows
These pillows came with our couch and we've never used them.

$12 for 3 yards of fabric (navy and ivory fabric is two-sided)

If you decide to purchase the pillows and the fabric, this is what it looks like recovered using the navy side!
Byrum's Upholstery in Belmont covered my pillow for $12.

$7 - small tan lamp shade

If you see something you are interested in just let me know!

blog award - 7 interesting facts

I was flattered when I saw this post by my friend Mandy. I really appreciate it. Her blog is fabulous too and you should check it out. She has the cutest twin boys you have EVER seen!

I sort of dread questions like these because I can never think of anything all that interesting about myself, but here it goes...7 interesting facts about me:

1. My parents are both musicians - My mom plays the piano and my dad plays the oboe. I was around music a lot as a child and I loved it. This leads right into the next fact about me.

2. I love to sing. I sing in the choir and praise team at my church and occasionally at weddings. I don't know that I've ever said that on the blog, but it truly is one of my favorite things to do.

3. Going right along with fact #2, when performing, I always memorize my lyrics, but Paul can tell you that if you ask me what the lyrics are to any song on the radio, I won't know them. I tend to make up my own lyrics:)

4. I secretly want to own my own stationary/card gift shop one day. I can already see the avocado green and white striped awning.

5. Paul and I met in high school and began dating our senior year so I guess you can call us high school sweethearts. I knew he would be my husband after only a few dates!

6. I am a clean freak. I like for everything to be neat, clean and in it's place. This OCDness has calmed down some since I've been pregnant, but I'm sure it will return.

7. I don't leave home without mascara on or at least it's rare if I do.

Okay, now I pass the award on to the following blogs:

Jennifer at Morrison Makings

Can't wait to hear from you girls! Love reading your blogs!

the paint is up...

... and not just in the nursery. It's funny how when you are planning and getting ready for a baby how you want to freshen up everything or maybe that's just me. We revamped two bathrooms and had the nursery painted at the same time. It felt good to get all of that done! I must say though, I am the world's worst at picking out paint colors. This took us two tries, but I like how it ended up!

half bathroom (restoration hardware - slate)

guest bathroom (porter paint - balsam)

nursery (benjamin moore - marilyn's dress)

Whew! A productive week and weekend! I hope you had a good one!

feeling spring-y

What a great weekend it was. It felt like spring and I love seeing all the blooms on the trees. This clutch screams spring!
Speaking of things blooming and growing, my belly definitely is. We were busy this weekend doing 'baby' things. My mom and I toured the newly renovated maternity center where I'll be delivering our little one and then later that day Paul and I went to USA Baby to hit up the sales they were having. We were both completely overwhelmed and we only went in one store. There is so much thought that goes into buying things for babies. Is it safe, sturdy, easy to use, etc...? We had fun though and are enjoying getting things ready for our little girl. I hope your weekend was grand!

one of these days...

...I'd like to get around to decorating my laundry room. These rooms make doing laundry seem like fun!

wedding weekend and halfway

This past weekend my dear childhood friend Emily got married! It was the most beautiful wedding. Every detail was thought of. She was such a gorgeous bride too. The wedding was at the Duke chapel which is just lovely. The architecture is amazing and I enjoyed walking down that long, long aisle. I am so very happy for this couple! Congrats Emily and Philip!

In other news, I've made it to the halfway point! Our little girl is quite the mover and shaker these days. I LOVE feeling her kick. Paul has been able to feel it too. We are starting to work on her room. I'll share photos as we progress. I hope you had a great weekend!
