Graham Carter Summerville

We welcomed our sweet baby boy, Graham Carter, into the world on May 14. What a blessing he is! More pictures and a birth story hopefully coming soon!

baby boy's nursery

For the most part, baby boy's nursery is complete so I thought I would share a few photos.  I had a difficult time trying to figure out what to do with this nursery mainly because of what I had to work with. It is funny, really. Several months ago, Paul attended an auction. Without any discussion, he came home with a large, framed print that featured a dad and son hunting. He was adamant about using the picture in the nursery. I was not excited about this picture, but I decided to be a good wife and compromise. I am pleased with how the nursery came together. It is very cozy and sweet and incorporates several items from Paul's childhood.

We would appreciate your prayers as we become a family of four this week!

how He loves

It was this time last year, two days before Mother's Day to be exact, that I got in my car, started crying and then heard David Crowder Band's 'How He Loves'. I had heard this song probably hundreds of times, but this time it really sunk in. I had just left the doctor's office and found out at 9 weeks that our little one's heart stopped beating. It is amazing how three simple words can help begin the healing process. That was all I needed to hear. Mother's Day can stir up a wide range of emotions. Every year, but this year especially for me, it is a reminder of the true blessing that is motherhood. It is also a time to honor and thank our mothers for the many sacrifices that they made and the love shown. For others it is a reminder of another year gone by where you are not a mother and desperately want to be, or a reminder of the loss of a mother or the loss of a child. Whatever your circumstance, God loves you. I hope you feel beautiful and loved this Mother's Day!

Oh how He loves you and me
Oh how He loves you and me
He gave his life. What more could he give?
Oh how He loves you
Oh how He loves me
Oh how He loves you and me

Happy Mother's Day mom!
