Christmas at a glance

We had a wonderful Christmas season this year. We enjoyed the Train Ride to Christmas Town, Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens, Riding thru McAdenville to see the lights, Christmas programs and a parade, seeing the Leonard Bearnstein Orchestra downtown Charlotte and Paul and I even managed to get a date in. Christmas is just so magical and special with our children. I hope you enjoyed your holiday season.

rooms to tackle in 2016

As with every new year comes new goals.  This year, along with the normal personal goals,  I have a couple house goals. I would like to tackle a few rooms that I have not touched since we moved in. I am a firm believer in taking your time decorating before just jumping in, but I also don't want things to sit idle either. A little progress is better than none, right? I am documenting this so I will hopefully keep myself accountable.

So, these are the rooms I plan to spend some time in along with my inspiration for each.

But before I can tackle these, I vow to get our garage organized...

Wish me luck!

gift idea

I know time is running out, but if you need a gift idea consider monogrammed pillowcases. It is a classic gift that can be used year-round. I purchased these at Target for all of Georgia's teachers.

Happy last few days (thankfully) of shopping!

oh clementine

Clementines are a huge hit at my house around the holidays so I try to incorporate them into decorating. I just fill up a pretty bowl with them and add some greenery. Below are some other great ways to incorporate them into your holidays.

our humble abode at Christmas

It feels strange to even type in this little space, but here I am. I am undecided what I will do with this blog, but it seems to help keep me accountable for documenting our life and decorating our home so I may still pop up every now and then. We moved about 3 months ago. We are slowly starting to feel settled, but I assure you my garage is still full of boxes. Christmas has reenergized me to get organized and decorate our new humble abode. Here are just a few snapshots of my 'less is more' approach to Christmas decorating this year.

Come on in...
