18 months

It has been quite some time since I have given an update on Georgia. She is now 18 months old! People always say it flies by, but I feel like time is moving even faster now so we are trying to soak up these precious days. Her personality has really started to shine.

She continues to love the outdoors, especially time at the park going down the slide "side".

She also loves to see the horses that live just across the field from our house. She looks out of the window and just says "neigh, neigh"!

Georgia is also quite tech savvy. Her favorite app is the Timmy Time app. She just sees the ipad and screams "baaaa, baaaa" - Timmy is a sheep by the way:) You would only know that if you are up watching cartoons by 7 a.m. like we are each day.

She still loves books too. She has several favorites: Cheerios book, Brown Bear, Tickle Monster and Goodnight Moon to name a few.

She is a dance machine! Her favorite song these days is "Hey, Soul Sister" by Train. I'm not really sure why, but it came on one day in the house while we had music playing and she just started dancing. If we play it once, we have to play it again "gin, gin" and again. She also loves "This little light of mine".

The tantrums have started. We took a trip to the mall two weeks ago. We were in Pottery Barn Kids just looking around. Georgia saw some play cookies - which would be great in her kitchen:) and she just wanted to keep playing with them. It was time to go and the meltdown began. This cute, sweet pregnant couple was picking up a beautiful rug. They gave us the "my child will never act like that" stare. Paul and I just smiled at each other and thought "this is what they have to look forward to". Tantrums are part of the learning/growing process and we are experiencing that now.

Georgia is a pretty good eater.  She loves yogurt, spaghetti, turkey, ham, broccoli, carrots, any fruit, especially strawberries and apples, and she loves cheese.

She is becoming quite the chef. We spend a lot of time talking about each of the foods and utensils used to cook in her kitchen.  She can repeat just about anything we ask her to say. She says "weewee" - kiwi, "papple"- apple, "patcha" - spatula, "poon" - spoon, "hot", "nanna" - banana, "nonut" - doughnut.

Just this past weekend she got her first haircut. She needed a little trim and Paul was already getting his hair cut so we just asked his lifelong hairdresser if she could squeeze us in and she did! Georgia did great.

She is certainly a handful these days and keeps us on our toes. She is smart and sneaky and we are having to really begin being consistent with our discipline. This may be one of the hardest parts of being a parent. Most days though she is full of smiles, laughter, hugs and kisses and those days are so sweet.  Georgia is a joy and a blessing and we are so thankful for her. Happy 18 months!

love, red and hearts

Here are just a few things that I've come across this week that make me think of Valentine's Day.

kitchen table lamp

I just recently added a table lamp in the kitchen. It is nothing fancy, but it adds some warmth and height. I'm not sure if this is an old trend, but regardless, I sure am loving the extra warm light it adds when all the other lights are out.

I love the use of these table lamps in the kitchen.

master bedroom

I'm itching to change up our master bedroom. It's not currently in the budget, but I sure do love the look of this master bedroom from the HGTV Dream Home.

current favorite product

One of my favorite gifts that I received this year was Kiehl's body butter. My mom gave it to both me and my sister and we just love it. I'm not sure if this is me aging or not, but my skin seems to be drier than it used too. I put this on all over at night and my skin feels so soft. Speaking of aging, I am looking for a good anti-wrinkle/anti-aging cream. I'm not looking for anything too crazy expensive. I'd just like an effective, reasonably priced cream. Any recommendations?

sleeping beauty

I have big girl rooms for our little sleeping beauty on the brain for some reason. We don't plan to make the switch for a while, but here are some rooms that have caught my eye.

winter getaway

Happy New Year to you! We just got back from a few days in the mountains. It is always nice after Christmas to get away and refresh for the start of a new year. We even saw some snow and enjoyed sledding. It was Georgia's first experience in the snow. She was not a fan of the cold temperatures, but did love sledding. I took pictures of her sledding on my phone. That is where I take most pictures these days. We're on Instagram if you care to follow!

Cheers to 2013! I hope it is a great year for you!

One sweet oreo face!
