tanning, one-piece and going blonde

With all this warm weather, I've been thinking about the beach. I said goodbye to tanning beds years ago, but always around this time of year I'm ready to start having some glow. I've started using Jergens Natural Glow and Protect and I'm loving it. It does have a little scent to it, but I'm definitely seeing some color. What I really love about it is that it has SPF 20 in it. What product do you use? I'd love to know.

Along those lines, thankfully, I'm seeing lots of cute one-pieces. That will be a MUST for me this year. JCrew has so many pretty ones!

Finally, have you tried Starbuck's new blonde roast? I haven't yet, but am interested to try it!

happy 8 months!

8 months is here and we are just loving this stage. I feel like Georgia did something new almost every day over the past month. She has become very mobile - crawling and rolling everywhere. It is also much easier now going out to eat with her. She loves sitting in the highchair and looking around. She is such a joy and we love her more and more each day! Happy 8 months baby girl!

What Georgia has been up to:
- She has become a very good eater. Her favorites are butternut squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, pears and apples.
- She LOVES banana puffs.
- Splashing during bath time is so fun. Mommy and daddy get just as wet as Georgia.
- She really enjoys being outside and will let you know when she is not ready to go back inside.
- She continues to love the activity jumper
- She babbles up a storm (GaGa, baba)
- She is crawling and rolling all over the place

Catch me if you can!

in full spring

Well, we're in full spring here in the Carolinas. The flowers are blooming beautifully. I'm feeling the effects of these beauties though - ALLERGIES. This is something new for me. Nonetheless, I'm really enjoying the weather.

We've spent lots of time outside. While on the deck one afternoon, I put a little water in Georgia's exersaucer.
This was Georgia's response.

I hope wherever you are, you've had lovely weather too.

verse and song

I have an encouraging verse for you that I came across this week for the first time. If you are going through a difficult season I pray Psalm 119:116 for you. It says "Sustain me according to your promise, that I may live! Do not let my hopes be crushed." What a great prayer.

And now for a complete change of subject because that's how my brain works, here's a fun song to get you pumped about the weekend. Paul and I along with my sister and brother-in-law had the chance to see Needtobreathe in concert. They were awesome. I wondered before we went who would open for them and Ben Rector was the opening act. I was so happy to be introduced to him. I hope you enjoy the song:) Have a happy st. patty's day weekend!

weeknight in town

We enjoyed a night in town tonight which felt like a treat! I believe I heard we hit a record high temp today. The weather was perfectly warm and the daylight of course is longer now so we took full advantage of that. Georgia enjoyed the stroll and we introduced her to the swing. What a nice night it was. Happy mid week to you!

Had to end the evening with an orangeade:)

confessions

I decided to link up today to midweek confessions over at emyselfandi! If you haven't checked the blog out, then you should. I feel like I can relate to almost every post. I hope you don't think badly of me for my confessions. If anything, they just make me more human!

1. I've asked God 'why' a lot lately. With all the natural disasters and hurt in people's lives that I've seen lately, I just wonder where HE is in all of it. I just want to know the 'why' part. I know my view of the picture is much smaller than HIS and honestly I think HE allows things to happen to make us stronger, teach us something or wake us up. I'm guilty of doubting this week though.

On to much much lighter confessions...

2. I rely on Facebook to keep up with almost everyone's birthday. Who doesn't, right? Happy Birthday Andrew (my brother-in-law)! I hope it was a great day:)

3. Yes, you see lots of recipes on this blog and I do love to cook, but I have to confess that we eat take-out and frozen pizza more than I'd like to admit.

4. It takes my little family almost 3 hours to get showered, fed, dressed and out the door to church and even still I'll forget something.

5. I heard a new song with Snoop Dogg in it this week. I like to listen to Snoop Dogg. I'm not sure which is funnier, the fact that 'I' like to listen to him or the fact that this mama driving her station wagon likes to listen to him. Both equally funny I guess.

6. I just got my hair cut and the hair stylist somehow talked me into buying a natural shampoo. When I left the appointment and got in my car, I read the directions on the shampoo bottle. I know, I know. The directions for washing your hair haven't changed, but every time I buy a new bottle of shampoo, I always read the directions.

Do you have any confessions?

Hop on over to Needleworks and JM Papers to check out their new inventory!
We hope your weekend has been great! Ours was productive and relaxing at the same time. Can those two words even be in the same sentence? Rarely:) Hoppy Sunday to you!

items for baby

Here are a few fun items for baby that I came across this week. I apologize for the lack of posts here lately. My time has been gobbled up by work, being a mom, trying to keep the house in order (which I'm unsuccessful at) and trying to start on some spring cleaning. I can't even believe spring is upon us. Welcome March!

Have a great weekend!
