welcome summer

This picture basically sums up our weekend perfectly. We did a lot of relaxing by the lake which was much needed. And boy did it feel like summer with temps in the high 90's. I loved it though and the weather could not have been more perfect.

I spy something blue...

While eating our mandarin orange grilled chicken salads last night...

...I spotted this blue beauty in full bloom! It's beginning to look and feel a lot like summer!

P is for pink...

That's right! Me and my little girl were showered on Saturday with lots of love from friends and family. It was my first baby shower and I had such a good time. My sister, aunt and sister-in-law threw the most beautiful shower. They did not miss any details. It was perfect. I didn't take many pictures, but here are just a few.

whew! the curtains are up

Whew is right! The belly is growing daily it feels like and it's getting harder and harder to bend over. A couple nights ago I buckled down and finished the curtains because I knew if I waited any longer I probably wouldn't be able to. I must say, I love the Serena and Lily punch color, but it is a difficult pink to match. I searched several places for fabric. I found the polka dot fabric at Calico Corners and it matched perfectly. The price wasn't great though so I kept searching and struck gold at Tony's Fabrics. They sold the exact same fabric for half the price! I also got lucky with the white panels. The little pom poms matched perfectly and these panels were half price too! I really like how they turned out. The only part that I made was the pelmet box. I followed the same tutorial that I used here.

Paul caught me in action. He was probably laughing at my attempt to bend over too:)

I have really been liking all of the wire baskets and other wire decor that I've been seeing around. I am incorporating a french wire piece in the nursery. There's just something I like about it. It looks industrial, but can look dainty too.
