star-spangled weekend

Here are some pictures from our star-spangled weekend in the mountains.

The weekend kicked off on Saturday with a parade in my parent's neighborhood. Leighton and Georgia rode in the wagon and both had their waves down pat! After the parade, we enjoyed the famous Woodlands BBQ, banana pudding and sweet tea.

There were records temps in the mountains too. It was crazy hot so when we got back from the parade we let the girls cool off before nap time.

Here are some cute pictures that my sister took of the girls before the parade. Sorry these are out of order.

Saturday night we went out to eat and had hamburgers and made delicious s'mores right at the table.

After dinner we headed to the Blowing Rock Country Club golf course to watch the fireworks. The girls played in the fairway and loved it! Paul and I didn't catch the fireworks. We decided to leave early to get Ga in bed. Don't feel sad for her or us. She doesn't like loud noises and Paul and I treated ourselves to Cook-Out milkshakes:)

We had a lazy Sunday morning around the cabin and then ventured into Blowing Rock for a picnic. We even took a mini hike with Georgia in the Deuter.

After our hiking adventure we started our way down the mountain and made a stop in Morganton to visit my grandmother. Both my grandma and papa have had major surgeries within the past month or so. Please keep them in your prayers. We enjoyed spending some time with Grandma Faye.

We made another little stop to see Granny B and Pops at the Catalina's concert before heading home. Georgia seemed to really enjoy the beach music! Well, that's our weekend in a nutshell.

We hope you had a happy 4th of July!
